The PET-G filament from BCN3D
PET-G is a polyester thermoplastic based on polyethylene terephthalate, characterised by a good balance of tensile strength and elongation at break. The ''G'' refers to modification with glycols. Its high resistance to water and chemicals makes it a popular material for waterproof containers and protective housings. PET-G is a versatile technical material that is as easy to print as PLA, but offers an improved balance of mechanical, chemical and thermal properties.
Applications for PET-G filament
Because PET-G is resistant to corrosive chemicals, it is particularly well suited for printing parts that come into contact with salts, acids or alkalis. The water and moisture barrier favours applications that need to be waterproof, such as beverage bottles. It is also suitable for functional prototypes and mechanical parts thanks to its higher load-bearing capacity and temperature resistance of up to 70°C.
