The EX-44044-2 PCI Express I/O card provides four serial RS-232 high-performance UART 16C550 outputs. It was developed to add four additional serial outputs for a PC, small workstation or server via the PCI Express bus.
The card is fully PCI-Express Plug-and-Play compatible and has no problems with IRQ and I/O address conflicts. In addition, +5 V or +12 V can be configured on pin 9 of the serial connector for a POS system (power over system). With the EX-44044-2 a low profile bracket is supplied, for narrow computer housings up to 8 cm height.
