AlNiCo magnets are made from aluminium, nickel, cobalt, iron, copper and titanium and produced in a sintering or casting process. It is a hard material that can only be machined economically by grinding. The material properties mean that dimensioning is optimally selected if the length is significantly greater than the diameter. When used in reed switches, it is recommended that the ratio of length to diameter is greater than 4 to 1. AlNiCo magnets have excellent temperature stability.
