Description

More targeted protection of a power grid is the most important advantage of selective circuit breakers (SCB). However, there are other points to be considered:

The SCB switch can be used as a central main switch. It offers the ability to reliably de-energise even a very large downstream distribution grid with numerous socket circuits and lighting circuits, all from a single point. This increases safety, not least in large and/or intricately laid-out areas and buildings.
Although the SCB main switch ensures that the short-circuit current is reduced in the event of a short circuit, it does not completely switch off unaffected areas before its final actuation. This ensures their safe continued operation.
It serves as a backup for the other installed circuit breakers and RCD switches or fuses.
It offers lockability and sealability as standard. Hager SCB switches can also be equipped with a restart interlock.
