The tachometer is used for either non-contact or mechanical contact scanning. The PCE-T236 digital tachometer is particularly suitable for measuring speeds and velocities on rotating machines and systems (on conveyor belts, motors, belt drives etc.).

The measurement is carried out either without contact with the aid of a reflex mark affixed to the rotating part, or by means of one of the plug-on mechanical adapters supplied, with measuring tip or measuring wheel (see photo). The tachometer has a switch for four selectable measuring ranges, as well as for min/max memory. In addition to its use in all sectors of industry, this hand-held tachometer is also used in operational and institutional research and development.
