Place the iron with the selected attachment on the included heating mat to avoid heating or burning your surface.Step 2. Press and hold the power button for a long time to turn the iron on or off. Press and hold the power button briefly to increase or decrease the heat. The lights will flash while the unit heats up to the desired heat. For healthy styling, we recommend the heat setting of 180°C/360°F. The lights will flash until the unit reaches the desired temperature.Step 3 Begin by dividing the hair into sections using our Grip Clips. Smaller sections will create more defined waves and curls. Spray each section generously with a heat protectant, such as our Mermade Mist. Be careful not to touch the scalp with the appliance. Hold the device for 2-5 seconds. Hold for a shorter time if the hair is easy to curl or if you want less defined waves or curls.Step 4. Wrap the hair around the shaft with the curling iron. Use a glove on the hand you are wrapping the hair with to protect your hand from the heat. For the wave wand, simply clamp each section of hair and continue working your way down each wave curve.Step 5, when you're done waving or curling, make sure the hair is completely cool before you touch it to allow it to set. For a beachy look, brush out the waves or curls. Finish by using an additional spray of Mermade Mist for hold and shine or a flexible, workable spray for more hold.Step 6.To turn off, press and hold the off button until the light goes off. For your safety, the unit will automatically shut off after 60 minutes. Allow the unit to cool completely before packing it away.
