Professional lavalier microphone with a miniature condenser capsule, which has been specially developed for voice transmission. The Kevlar®-reinforced connection cable is 1.2 m long and has a 3.5-mm, 4-pole TRRS jack plug. The smartLav+ can be connected directly to the headphone jack of a smartphone.
For optimal recording results, the smartLav+ should be attached to the lapel, the collar or at chest height to clothing using the crocodile clip. It is often useful to position the capsule so that it is facing downwards to reduce breathing noises and hissing sibilants. Since the smartLav+ has an omnidirectional capsule, which means that it has the same level of sensitivity all over, it doesn't make a difference in terms of sound quality whether the capsule is facing upwards or downwards.
