Comprehensive network security featuresThe DGS-1210 is equipped with advanced security settings. For example, the D-Link safeguard Engine turns on when large amounts of data are overloaded by the switch CPU due to virus attacks on individual network components. The Access Control List determines which user can use which services and files and authenticates these users by the IEEE 802.1X standard. For additional security, the DHCP server screening ensures - the switch recognizes its IP address based on the DHCP request of the clients and the corresponding response of the server and automatically assigns it to the MAC address associated with the port.
High functionality thanks to bandwidth control and QoSThe switch offers sophisticated QoS functions for automatic prioritization of digital data packets. For optimal voice quality in VoIP applications, voice VLAN support ensures that voice traffic is automatically moved to a top-priority VLAN. Bandwidth control also allows the network administrator to limit bandwidth for child devices. In addition, the DGS-1210 is equipped with numerous Layer2 functions, including IGMP snooping, port mirroring and the LACP Trunking protocol. Rapid spanning tree and loopback detection immediately detect redundant loops and automatically block the duplicate connection. Cable diagnostics allow network administrators to quickly identify and troubleshoot the status and potential failures of the copper lines.
Network management made easyThe Smart Switch provides small businesses with cost-effective, simple network management features: The SmartConsole utility automatically detects additional D-Link Smart Switches within the same Layer2 segment. Basic configurations such as password changes and firmware upgrades are simplified and summarized by an understandable start setup. In addition to the Web interface, the DGS-1210 supports management via TELNET Basic CLI, SNMP, and D-View 6.0, which are used for integrated monitoring and management of all critical network components.
