It serves as an alternative to the CAN bus and is characterized by a lower speed and the support of a smaller number of simultaneous devices, but also has significantly lower costs.
LIN is used for communication between microcontrollers.

Master/slave is a communication model in which one device (master) controls one or more other devices (slave) and the slave then responds to the commands it receives from the master.
A master in the LIN protocol can control up to 16 devices.
