The Homematic IP Access Point represents the central element of the Homematic IP smart home system. The Access Point is connected to the conventional router and connects the Homematic IP Cloud located in Germany with the Homematic IP devices in your own home - and it is fully encrypted. Since no personal data is requested during setup, the user remains anonymous despite using a cloud solution. Once the access point is connected to the Internet, all functions can be accessed via a free smartphone app. The intuitive app provides a clear overview of all conceivable functions. The app can also be used to train new devices in just a few simple steps. Thanks to a free-field range of up to 400 meters, even devices in remote corners can be reliably integrated into the system.
The innovative IP radio protocol communicates extremely energy-efficiently on the 868 MHz frequency. This ensures long battery runtimes for the remote devices and prevents users from being exposed to permanent radio radiation. The high efficiency is also reflected in the access point's energy consumption. It has an average power consumption of 1.1 watts, so there should be no surprises on the electricity bill. Despite the low energy consumption, the base also visually provides the user with the necessary status updates at any time. The button on the front of the base station lights up in different colors depending on the operating status.

The Homematic IP radiator thermostat - basic is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and actively helps to save energy. The smart controller replaces conventional radiator thermostats, allowing energy savings of up to 30 %.
The thermostat is mounted on the radiator without interfering with the heating system and without tools. Power is supplied by two AA batteries, which can provide energy for about 2 years. The radiator thermostat is ready for immediate use thanks to a preset heating profile - this can be manually adjusted at any time if required. Individual temperature profiles with up to 13 changes are possible per day. In this way, Homematic IP only heats certain rooms when there is a real need.
