The "Peace and Love sign" was designed by Gerald Holtom in the 1950s and was adopted by anti-war activists in the 1970s along with the Peace hand sign. The name 19-69 stands for exactly that: freedom, tolerance and counterculture. The 19-69 Chinese Tobacco fragrance is also a reminiscence of a visit to a restaurant in Kuala Terengganu. It was late at night, the air was filled with wonderful aromas from the kitchen area while a group of men smoked and played cards. The fragrance is spicy and woody.
