In optical speed measurement, you can use the testo 470 tachometer to record how fast a rotating object is turning. In this way, you can check the operation of motors, shafts and fans, for example, to detect impending defects due to overload at an early stage.
For speed measurement, simply stick the reflex marks onto the object to be measured and align the visible red light beam with the reflex mark. Then the measurement can begin (at a distance of up to 600 mm between the tachometer and the measured object). In doing so, the tachometer can be operated comfortably with one hand.
However, the testo 470 tachometer not only offers the functions of an optical tachometer, but also those of a mechanical tachometer: Attach the adapter for the probe tip and measure the speed mechanically. By plugging on the impeller, you additionally measure speeds and lengths of impellers/bands.
