The social revolution and the constant crossing of boundaries in the late 1960s led to artists' forms of expression developing in new directions. Some artists took a stand against the prevailing values and behaviors of society with performance art - art that exists as it is created. However, this also means that important voices and parts of the art history of this time are in danger of disappearing, as they only exist as photographic or filmic records.
