The INTELLINET NETWORK SOLUTIONS Fast Ethernet Media Converter is specifically designed to allow network planners to integrate copper cable connections into a fiber optic network. This allows the integration or expansion of the existing network to be carried out with little cost and effort. Because the converter is completely network transparent, the network continues to operate in the same way - now with support for both copper and fiber optic media.
Extends an existing network
Thanks to the fiber-optic connection, remote workgroups can now be integrated into the network. Building-to-building connections can be set up without additional routers, which saves effort and costs.
Increases the range between network devices
The connection to a fiber optic segment can increase the distance between remote network nodes. This can be achieved by directly connecting the converter to a fiber optic link node or network device.
Flexibility in cabling
Network administrators can install fiber optic cables anywhere in a network without having to change the structure of the copper cable network. Due to the compact design of the converter, it can be installed in places with limited space as well as on a wall mount. Several converters can also be installed simultaneously in a 19'' rack-mount housing.
