Verbatim SDHC (Secure Digital High capacity, SD 2.0) cards are designed for use in compatible digital cameras, portable MP3 players, camcorders, mobile phones, PCs and other consumer applications. SDHC cards use a FAT32 file system - a specification set for higher capacity applications - and are particularly suitable for high quality video.
The increasing use of high-quality video, high-resolution digital photography and mobile applications demands higher storage capacities and more demanding data transfer rates. The SDHC cards therefore offer a continuous minimum data transfer speed instead of a maximum speed.
The verbatim SDHC cards are compatible with all corresponding SD standards. Built-in write protection also prevents accidental deletion of data. SDHC cards use the same low-level formatting as SD cards, but cannot be used for SD host devices that do not meet SDA version 2.0 standards.
Performance Classes:
Performance classes serve as the official unit for the speed measurement of SD cards and are defined by the SD Association. The unit is equivalent to 8 Mbps and measures the minimum write speeds based on the ''best possible fragmentation state in which no memory unit is occupied''.
