Sensor ICs in the SS400 series are small and versatile digital Hall-effect components that are driven by the magnetic field of a permanent magnet or electromagnet and designed to react to alternating north and south poles. Bipolar, unipolar and latch magnets are available.
Thanks to band-gap regulation, extremely stable operation is possible over the entire range of supply voltage from 3.8 V DC to 30 V DC. These sensors are suitable for continuously 20-mA-switching power outlets and withstand temporary current peaks to a maximum of 50 mA. The 3.8-V rating makes them useful in many different low-voltage applications.
The power output of the open collector can be easily connected with a large selection of electronic circuits.
In order to be able to offer reliable products and high quality, the SS400 series has been tested at 25°C [75°F] and 125°C [257°F]. All catalogue items in this series are classified for operation at up to 150°C [302°F].
