The Klein Tools VDV500-705 Tone & Probe Test and Trace Kit combines a digital tone generator and digital tracing probe to provide a complete cable identification and verification solution. The tone generator injects a digital tracing signal that can be detected by the probe to locate cables in bundles, patch panels and distribution points, even on active networks. When used together, the units support wire mapping with shield detection, enabling verification of pin-to-pin wiring accuracy. The tone generator features an RJ45 port for testing RJ45, RJ11 and RJ12 cables, while LED indicators display continuity and polarity status. The probe offers adjustable sensitivity, audible and visual signal feedback and a headphone jack for precise identification in high-noise environments.
