Formlabs tough 1500 resin at IGO3D
The tough 1500 resin is a synthetic resin from the popular manufacturer Formlabs. The material is one of the technical resines and offers improved mechanical properties. Tough 1500 is a highly resistant resin. It is suitable for 3D-printed objects that can be repeatedly bent, but quickly return to their original shape. The properties should be approximately equal to the values of a polypropylene (PP) material.
The material is compatible with the mold lab form 3 and form 2. In the form 2, a resin tank LT is required in combination with this resin. Curing in a UV chamber, such as the form Cure, is necessary for post-processing.
Applications for tough 1500 resin form labs
The tough 1500 resin molding labs are particularly suitable for snap-on closures and printed moving parts such as hinges. Also spring-loaded components, which are frequently in motion and are bent, can be realized with Formlabs tough 1500 synthetic resin.
Difference between Formlabs tough 1500 and tough 2000
Formlabs tough 1500 resembles a polypropylene plastic, whereas tough 2000 is more like an ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-stirene copolymer). Tough 1500 is easier to bend and can be bent repeatedly. Tough 2000 is much stiffer and firmer. It can also be bent minimally.
