The FRITZ!Powerline 1240E WLAN set turns any socket into a fast and secure network connection. Achieve significantly more robust connections, greater range and higher throughput than ever before with Gigabit Powerline up to 1200 Mbit/s and 2x2 MIMO technology. The device pair also has a wireless-N access point for wirelessly connecting smartphones, tablet and notebooks to your home network. You can also run demanding broadband applications from anywhere in your house or flat.
1200-class Powerline
The FRITZ!Powerline 1240E WLAN set connects network-enabled devices such as computers, TVs and games consoles to the home network, even over great distances. Networking via the power supply line allows you to easily overcome obstacles such as walls and ceilings. The FRITZ!Powerline 1240E WLAN set delivers significantly higher transmission capacity and more robust connections in comparison with older-generation Powerline adapters — and with greater energy efficiency. The set is ideal for applications requiring high broadband usage, such as transferring HD videos (even in 3D), high-speed Internet access, online gaming, web TV, NAS connections and video on demand. Even if there are large distances between the adapters, transfer quality is not compromised. The 2x2 MIMO technology allows up to 60% greater range in the electricity network through the simultaneous use of two pairs of wires, and provides considerably more stable connections.
WLAN with a large range
The FRITZ!Powerline 1240E adapter in the set has a separate wireless-N access point, which means the wireless network can be easily extended via Powerline and even reach rooms that are far away from the router. With maximum security thanks to WPA2 encryption, simple connection of WLAN devices via Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) and data rates of up to 300 Mbit/s, the FRITZ!Powerline 1240E offers the ultimate convenience and flexibility in wireless surfing.
Simple and secure set-up
An outstanding feature of AVM FRITZ!Powerline products is individual factory pre-encryption, which allows immediate and safe set-up. Plug the FRITZ!Powerline 1000E into the socket and connect it to the FRITZ!Box using a LAN cable then plug the FRITZ!Powerline 1240E into the socket at the desired location and connect it to the relevant device. The Powerline network is now set up (Plug & Play). This connection is automatically secured by means of an individual 128-bit AES encryption. Additional adapters can be easily added to the secure Powerline network at the touch of a button. The FRITZ!Powerline 1240E WLAN set meets the HomePlug AV2 standard and is compatible with current devices in the 1200, 600, 500 and 200-Mbit/s classes.
