This Kolink adapter greatly simplifies the routing of 16-wire 12+4-pin connecting cables, particularly in compact enclosures. It can handle up to 600 W of power and, thanks to its robust design and integrated heat sink made of around 340 grams of copper, helps to prevent cable bending and overheating.
- New version, backwards compatible
The new version of the 12+4-pin connector conforms to the PCIe CEM-5.1 standard of the ATX-3.1 specification and is known as 12V-2x6. It is backwards compatible with the previous 12VHPWR version. The shortened sense pins (on the bottom of the adapter) ensure that communication between the graphics card and the power supply unit can only take place when the plug is fully inserted, thereby enabling maximum performance to be reliably achieved. A correct connection between the adapter and the cable is therefore crucial.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX-4000 series graphics cards use the new PCIe-5.0 standard 16-pin (12+4-pin) connector for their power supply. This adapter has been developed to avoid excessive cable bending.
