The SSD is intended to replace traditional 2.5'' 44-pin PATA hard disks and help older computer systems to achieve more performance and reliability. Transcend's PSD330 2.5'' PATA SSD is currently available in three sizes: 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.
The PSD330 provides read and write access speeds of 119 MB/s and 67 MB/s for older computer systems without needing to replace the entire system. This reduces costs compared to a new acquisition with the associated technical integration of new systems into the work flow. The PSD330 SSD supports PATA, Ultra DMA modes 0–6, PIO modes 0–4, and Multi-Word DMA modes 0–2, offering full flexibility for all types of legacy devices based on the 2.5'' PATA memory module. In addition to use with notebook hard disks, it is suitable for use in POS systems, automation computing systems, industrial control equipment or production machinery.
The Transcend 2.5'' PATA SSD is equipped with high-quality MLC flash chips and has a memory capacity of up to 128 GB. The absence of movable components makes the SSD particularly resistant to shock and vibration, and it also requires less power. Thus, the PSD330 is ideal for efficient operation in mobile devices that require a long battery life.
In use, SMART monitors the memory processes and recognises hard-drive defects even before they occur. The integrated ECC (error-correction code) ensures error-free data transfer, while wear-levelling technology ensures system stability and long-term use. Additional security is provided by advanced power-shield technology, which prevents data loss in the event of a sudden power failure.
