All LIGHTWIN® glass fiber patch cables are processed with special ferrules and processing methods to a high-quality product.
These cables are suitable for all fiber optic applications in various areas of telecommunications.
Typical applications are patching in data centers, server or network cabinets, as well as FTTH (Fiber to the Home).
By using singlemode ferrules for the LIGHTWIN® multimode patch cables and specially selected ferrules with the lowest tolerances for the LIGHTWIN® singlemode patch cables, attenuation values far exceeding the required ISO/IEC standards can be achieved.
Further advantages of LIGHTWIN® fiber optic patch cables:- 100% tested, with individual measurement protocol for Return Loss and Insertion Loss
- Use of fibres insensitive to bending. Therefore no increase in damping with narrow bending radii.
- Aramid yarn reinforced strain relief, halogen free and flame retardant sheath according to IEC-60754-2, IEC-60332-1 and IEC-61034
- All connector combinations and lengths are available on request at short notice.
General information about fiber optic cables:Identical terms for fiber optic patch cables can include: patch cord, adapter cable, connecting cable, jumper.
While a conventional signal in a copper cable can be exposed to electrical interference, fiber optic cables work with light. Therefore, they cannot be affected by electromagnetic interference from the outside, nor does a fiber optic cable affect other wires or signals, because a fiber optic cable has no radiation whatsoever.
Due to the low attenuation of the optical cables, distances of well over 100km can be bridged without optical amplification.
