Verbatim SDHC cards (Secure Digital High Capacity, SD 2.0) were developed for use in compatible digital cameras, portable MP3 players, camcorders, mobile phones, PCs and other applications developed for end users. SDHC cards use a FAT32 file system-a specification that was set up for applications with higher capacity requirements-and are particularly suitable for high-quality videos.
The increasing use of high-quality videos, high resolution digital photography and mobile applications requires greater storage capacity and higher data transfer rates. SDHC cards therefore offer a minimum uninterrupted data transmission speed instead of a maximum speed.
Verbatim SDHC cards are compatible with all corresponding SD standards. Built-in write protection also prevents accidental deletion of data. SDHC cards use the same low-level formatting as SD cards, but cannot be used for SD host devices that do not comply with SDA standards version 2.0.
