The MC220L is a media converter designed for converting 1000BASE-SX fibre media into 1000Base-TX copper media and vice versa.
The MC220L was designed according to the IEEE802.
3ab 1000Base-T standard and the IEEE802.
3z 1000Base-SX/LX/LH standard and is intended for use with multimode fibre-optic cables and the SC plug.
It functions at 850nm for both transmitting and receiving data when using multimode fibre-optics and at 1310nm for both transmitting and receiving data when using a single mode fibre-optic cable.
Other features of this module include: the option of using the device as a stand-alone device (no enclosure required) or with the 19 inch system enclosure from TP-LINK, auto MDI/MDIX for the transmission port, and status LED on the front.
The MC220L transmits in fibre-optic long distance mode via the multimode fibre-optic cable up to a distance of 550 m and via a single mode fibre-optic cable up to a distance of 10 km.
