Product Description
Lanberg Switch 16X 1GB Gigabit Ethernet Rack 10/19''
The switch is an indispensable active device in any network structure that uses structured cabling for transmission. The RSGE-16 is suitable for all installations: Home, business, low power, surveillance, IP, VoIP and cable TV networks.
- unmanaged switch with 16 1 GBit/s ports
- Metal housing
- 3 operating modes: Standard, VLAN, Extend
- the kit enables installation in 10'' and 19'' rack cabinets
Its matching housing and the supplied brackets allow installation in server cabinets, the functions enable versatile use in any configuration, the bus and microcircuitry used ensure speed in the Gigabit Ethernet standard.
All this makes it suitable for use in demanding and extensive networks.
According to the standard, standard switches allow devices to operate up to 100 meters on a single cable run. However, sometimes it turns out that due to the extensive backbone network and complex environment, a customized solution that goes beyond the standard is required when developing the cabling and networking. This is a fairly common problem with surveillance solutions, usually due to the excessive distance between the distribution device and the end device.
Lanberg switches have a feature that allows data transmission (max. 10 Mbps) up to 250 m on a single cable section. Simply set the switch on the housing to the ''Extend 250 m'' position to ensure operation over a longer distance.
The solution was introduced for surveillance and IP and access control systems, especially when the end devices are located outdoors without the possibility of installing additional network distribution points.
VLAN is a function with a wide range of possibilities, from the separation or connection of several logical networks within another, larger physical network to the separation of ports from each other. This feature is mainly used in configurable switches, but is rarely found in low-cost, let alone unmanaged solutions.
Lanberg switches have a function that allows all standard ports to be disconnected from each other (1 ~ 14), while each port can only communicate with uplink ports (15 ~ 16). Simply set the switch on the housing to the ''VLAN'' position to ensure port separation.
The solution was introduced to ensure effective protection of devices in surveillance, alarm and access control systems. Especially where security is always paramount.
Both the switch itself and the devices connected to it are constantly exposed to various hazards, including discharges that can flow through both power and network cables.
To ensure the safety of the devices and their users, Lanberg has equipped the switch with an integrated discharge protection circuit that guarantees 2 kV protection for all ports and thus effectively reduces damage caused by...
