Industrial environments demand TRUE RMS - measuring instruments!Non-linear loads caused, for example, by motor drives with adjustable speed, frequency converters or power supplies for office equipment and LED lights, generate reactive power in the mains. As a result, multimeters and current clamps with the averaging measurement method (RMS) display the measured values less accurately.
In many cases and especially in industrial environments the use of modern true RMS measuring instruments is necessary. The TRUE RMS measuring method correctly displays the actual, effective value of an alternating current - regardless of whether the signal form of the current is sinusoidal or distorted.
